4-Day LEARN2HUNT Workshop (Sept 4-7)

Service Description

Learn 2 Hunt workshops are the backbone of what we do. This four-day course includes classroom & hands-on training, field skills, and two outings where you’ll hunt with a mentor and have an opportunity to harvest your first deer. The classroom portions of the course will take place in a small group setting and all training and field work will be done with one instructor for every 2 students. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable, each having at least 20 years of hunting experience to share. Meals and snacks will be provided from the time you arrive on Thursday through Sunday afternoon. Hunting apparel, boots, crossbows, treestands, safety harnesses, blinds, and processing tools will also be provided. We do ask that you bring appropriate clothing to wear during outdoor training and field work as well as warm layers and outdoor/hiking boots of your own if you have them. WHAT IS INCLUDED: - 4 DAYS, 3 NIGHTS LODGING - MEALS AND SNACKS, PREPARED WITH WILD GAME - ONE WHITETAIL DOE (QUARTERED) WHAT WILL BE COVERED DURING THE WORKSHOP: - OVERVIEW OF HUNTING LAWS AND REGULATIONS - HOW TO BUY HUNTING LICENSES AND TAGS AND HOW THESE SYSTEMS WORK - HOW TO FIND PLACES TO GO HUNTING - WHAT GEAR YOU’LL NEED TO GET STARTED - TRAINING IN CROSSBOW & FIREARM USE - ANIMAL SHOT PLACEMENT OVERVIEW - HOW TO IDENTIFY DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANIMAL SIGN - HOW TO HANG A TREESTAND - WHAT TO DO AFTER YOU SHOOT AN ANIMAL AND HOW TO FOLLOW A BLOOD TRAIL - HOW TO FIELD DRESS AN ANIMAL - HOW TO PROCESS AN ANIMAL ON YOUR OWN - COOKING WILDGAME WITH RECIPES TO USE AT HOME - TWO SEPARATE HUNTING OUTINGS 1-ON-1 WITH A MENTOR *Please note this session may be rescheduled if the minimum participant number is not met.
